To inspire, motivate, and manage team members in all aspects of Distribution Center operations.
Ensures adherence to and facilitates employee training and compliance with all company safety rules and procedures.
Oversees daily DC operations in the different areas of the warehouses… wave planning, returns, picking, bulk flooring, loading and assists in planning with each area’s team leader for the daily workload and labor requirements needed for each work area.
Maintains strong on the floor presence to identify and correct problems.
Communicates with customer service and production planning regarding any current or potential product shortages and plans the pulling and loading of orders with the wave planner and team leaders according to these shortages.
Communicates WMS functionality problems and recommended improvements to the workflow of WMS to IT/Project Leader WMS.
Assists in implementing new functions and methods of working in WMS.
Maintains distribution employees’ schedules, time worked and attendance in KRONOS. Ensures Coaching for Success by proactively training, counseling and addressing marginal work performance. Partners with HR in matters that require corrective action or review. Interviews candidates and develops succession plans for future business requirements.
Assists in scheduling, completing quarterly inventories, and auditing counts on picking pallets. Initiates procedures to control product damage and ensure accurate picking orders.
Develops and reviews work procedures to ensure company objectives are met.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor s Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent experience (minimum 8 years)
7-8 years total distribution and warehousing experience along with at least 3 years WMS experience. 5 years supervisory experience preferably in WH management. 3-4 years experience in logistics, transportation, planning and scheduling.
Experience with Engineered Standards and Metrics for DC Operations
Must be able to operate a forklift and the other motorized equipment in the warehouse.
Management of multiple site locations
Project Management with Six Sigma Exposure
Flexibility with work schedule, some travel required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Email, WMS, Excel skills, with data spreadsheet usage
