This position reports to the Regional Transportation Manager and is responsible for monitoring the daily driver schedules and deliveries. In addition, the Transportation Supervisor handles driver issues and questions related to compensation, attendance and progressive discipline. The Transportation Supervisor will also be directly responsible for maintaining fleet preventative maintenance schedules and responsible for tracking repairs to completion.
The hours for this position are 8pm-5am Sunday night thru Thursday morning
Assists in driver hiring process by screening applications and scheduling road tests of driver candidates.
Administer a ride-along with drivers as needed for efficiency analysis.
Performs capacity analysis to determine when rental equipment is needed.
Maintains attendance records and notifies Fleet Operations Manager of policy violations.
Compares documented hours worked/miles ran to ensure weekly compensation for drivers is accurate.
Utilizes Peoplenet and McLeod applications to track the route progress of drivers.
Provides feedback to routers(Planning) regarding equipment constraints, delivery windows, and items to be redelivered.
Communicates with RDC management and supervisors regarding loading/unloading issues.
Serves as liaison between drivers and leasing companies regarding equipment issues.
Generates reports relevant to departure, delivery, equipment usage and mileage variances. Posts results to appropriate Mohawk intranet sites.
Maintains current driver/equipment database in Peoplnet and McLeod.
Interfaces with Peoplenet and repair vendors to resolve issues with in-cab units to include technical questions as well as the tracking of units sent for repair.
Able to work multiple shifts or weekends as needed and cover co-worker vacations as requested.
Performs any function requested by management/supervision.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Basic knowledge of current DOT regulations.
Prior experience in transportation required.
Prior supervisory experience required.
Must have excellent attendance record. Must have verifiable work history withreferences.
Proficient with basic software applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel is necessary.
Previous experience using transportation software is necessary.
