Mohawk Industries Business Intelligence Specialist in SUGAR VALLEY, Georgia
The position will be responsible for maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) tools by providing technical expertise to internal customers across the Home BU. The role will have extensive interaction with the BI Manager and will be tasked with engaging with BI platforms such as Power BI, creating analytics dashboards, developing systems integrations and maintaining SOP documentation. This role will focus on the creation and technical upkeep of BI tools through continuous coding, audits, and data interpretation. To best serve external customers, a BI Specialist will provide subject matter expertise in maintaining Product Information Management (PIM) platforms, such as Salsify or Plytix, for our business unit leaders. Position is also expected to work hands-on with data warehousing/BI technologies like SQL, SAP HANA, SAP BOBJ, and the full Microsoft Power Suite (Power BI, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate etc.) to provide support to management for all BI related applications.
Responsible for designing and maintaining back end development of PIM platforms, BI platforms and EDI in a way that complies with BI team standards, methodologies, and practices.
Maintenance of Power BI Dashboards, Reports, and Datasets.
Act as a technical advisor on organizing data, translating data, and analyzing data from a variety of coding languages and platforms.
Work with BI Manager to create data architecture, product strategy, SOP documentation and BI roadmap.
Identify and/or modify dashboards, reports, and other analytic needs at the request of the BI Manager.
Participates in major applications integration efforts such as application testing and user support of all business projects.
Continue to code for various Product Information Management (PIM) platforms such as Salsify to ensure our eCommerce team can successfully maintain distribution channels for all major customers
Analyzes and provides technicaladviceregarding the interface/integrate of supported systems with the rest of the application portfolio; analyzes how the supported applications can best serve business functions.
Install, configure, and maintain BI applications, which will also include upgrades and audits when required
Performs other duties as required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration Systems or an equivalent combination of education and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, including:
3+ years of Power BI development and architecture design
Proficient understanding of the concepts of coding languages; variables, do-while loops, if/then/else, etc.
Experience with PIM software such as Salsify, Plytix, Oracle, or Infosphere
Experience working with multiple BI systems like Microsoft Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, etc.
Expertise with Excel, from basic concepts to advanced functions
Understand multiple data structures including normalized, structured, unstructured, JSON, XML, EDI, etc.
Experience with Business Intelligence development life cycle from business requirement gathering to end solution
Experience with any of the following languages is a plus
SQL, DAX, M, R, Python etc.
Experience with Self-service BI and Agile BI development
Exposure to Predictive Analytics, Data Science, and Big Data technology preferred
Strong knowledge of the BU being served to better understand needs and scope
Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers
Presentation skills that include explanation of technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
