We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager - Home Centers. This person will partner with Marketing, Product Management, and Strategic Business Units to implement sales strategies and programs across all existing customers & solicit new business in the channel including in the digital space.
Provide a disciplined and innovative approach to grow the business and profitability in each segment.
In alignment with Channel Marketing, develop and implement on sales strategies, programs and initiatives that deliver achievement of revenue, profit and market share objectives.
Develop and execute overall programsand grow business with existing customers, penetrate new markets and add new accounts.
Provide strategic direction for the development of business plans, forecasts, competitive analysis and general sales administration.
Focused on establishing and maintaining relationships in designated accounts at all levels and functions.
Execute joint business planning with key accounts.
Establish a working relationship with the Product Development team and communicate the segment’s customer needs.
Work closely with Sales Operations to analyze the market segment and identify opportunities (internal, competitive, and overall).
Works directly with marketing to develop tools for growth within the market segment.
Market Segment Focused:
Be one of the company’s go-to experts for assigned market segment.
Develop and implement tools to support growth within specific segment.
Assist in growing the overall business in that market segment.
Push ideas to product development to close product gaps in assigned market / customer segment.
Assist on strategies, meetings, and conflict resolution for major strategic accounts within assigned segment.
Push ideas for increased growth across Mohawk Business Units / Boundaryless selling.
Understand completely the competition’s SWOT within market segment.
Experience and Knowledge:
Established sales professional with a proven track record of profitable growth. Keen ability to think more strategically, work more efficiently and effectively, and challenge assumptions in the marketplace to remove obstacles for success. Experienced in individual & team environments in pooling together individual strengths for the success of the organization.
Strong interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively at the corporate, regional and local levels are required. Experienced in managing key customer or account relationships, creating and presenting strategic presentations. Experienced in developing business proposals. Fact based and problem-solving skills as well as analytical skills and the ability to think strategically to include development of business analysis & account planning (Maintaining growing customers & signing NEW business). Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Adept all strategic account related software and web bases technologies.
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience is required with a consumer-packaged goods company and experience with Retail channel customers.
Demonstrated ability to influence others & a self-starter that drives growth.
A track record of achieving goals.
Ability to travel over 10-20%
