Responsibilities

  • Encourages personnel to provide information related to SAP system. (Work request info, actual hours, job plan details, etc.)

  • Able to program in SAP and setup maintenance functions

  • Aable to train

  • Ensures planned work is always ready so that department heads and coordinators can schedule opportunity work.

  • Maintains discipline to minimize break-in work

  • Coaches personnel on the appropriate time lines and protocol to organize and schedule down days and shutdowns

  • Responsible for tying in operations, maintenance, capital and other plant areas to SAP system, including the generation of appropriate reports for plant personnel and departments

  • Works with appropriate department managers and coordinators to develop detailed job plans as necessary

  • Runs reports to identify PM status. Ensures that department managers are aware of overdue PM’s

  • Provides recommendations to department managers on PM development and scheduling

  • Maintains the PM database on behalf of appropriate department managers

  • Works with department managers to optimize PM database. Reviews history and feedback to assess whether PM frequency can be reduced, or adjusted.

  • Enters Work Requests into the system as received

  • Works with appropriate department manager to approve, and code Work Requests into Work Orders.

  • Works with Department manager to plan work orders in preparation for scheduling.

  • Identifies parts required and works with Purchasing to order parts as required

  • Develops job plans and identifies required resources

  • Tracks status of work orders for Department manager(s).

  • Reports on Fire/Safety Work Order status

  • Reports on status of overhauls

  • Reports on status of environmental related work orders

  • Reports on aged work orders. (Work in system for long periods of time)

  • Reports on PM Work Orders

  • Reports on RIP Work Orders

  • Reports on work orders on hold for parts, and other reasons

  • Closes competed work orders in SAP system. Ensures appropriate data is entered including actual hours, pertinent comments, updating of job plans, failure codes, etc.

  • Works with department managers to sign-off on time cards and enter data

  • Liaison for contractors to support the planning process for identified contractor jobs

  • Works with department managers to minimize contractor activity by optimizing work and scheduling with internal resources when possible

  • Provides direction to contractors for some activities

  • Provides reporting information for maintenance key metrics

  • Maintains files and manuals associated with SAP and equipment

  • Provides coverage for crew meetings

  • Ensures maintenance personnel are active participants in Contractor and Lockout Sub-committees

  • Actively participates in operate and maintain initiatives

  • Is responsible for the housekeeping and cleanliness of the maintenance areas

  • Stays current in area specific 0rientations, lockout certification and training that are specific to Maintenance and operational coverage

  • Expected to be Hotwork Certified and Confined Space certified

  • Expected to be Lockout Certified for Area(s) of Responsibility

  • Supports 5S and housekeeping initiatives by ensuring all parts are tagged and stored in appropriate locations.

  • Provides estimates and costs for planned work

  • Administers and tracks costs for activities scheduled

  • Works to minimize contractor costs

  • Identifies questionable output from work force for work orders scheduled to department managers

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent such as maintenance technology, mechanical engineering or materials management from two-year technical college or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combinations of education and experience preferred.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as lengths, widths, weights, fractions, and volume. Knowledge and use of metric measurements also required.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Proficient in computer skills such Windows Microsoft Office and Project.

  • Prior experience with computerized Maintenance Management Systems preferred.

  • Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time on concrete.

  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and dusty environment.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.

  • Must be able to climb vertical ladders, multiple flights of stairs and work off elevated surfaces.

  • Must not have any limitations in regards to working in confined spaces or wearing a respirator for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and steel toe shoes.

  • Must be able to make repetitive motions involving twisting and turning.

  • Must be able to kneel and bend over frequently.

  • Must be able to climb on and work around machinery resulting in awkward or uncomfortable positions.

  • Must be able to push or pull 75 pounds.

  • Must have vision of 20/50 (corrected or not).
