Essential Job Functions

  • Disassembles, replace or repair broken parts as needed

  • Performs preventive maintenance on assigned machines

  • Set-up machines by changing gears and pulleys for changeover to different product

  • Performs twist checks to ensure proper set-up

  • Check machines with strobe light to ensure proper set-up and running of machine

  • Fill-out reports and forms as required

  • Works with the overhauler to ensure that procedures are being followed with preventive maintenance schedule

  • And other duties assigned.

  • Perform repairs and other breakdowns or maintenance shut downs

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Able to pick up at least 50 lbs. 10% of time

  • Always follow LOCK OUT / TAG OUT Procedures

  • Must wear PPE (Ear Plugs, Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots)

  • 5% of the time evaluating machine parts and switches

  • 50% Reaching: to remove and replace parts

  • 85% Bending: to remove and replace parts

  • 75% Pushing/Pulling: removing parts, handling tools, and pushing yarn trucks

  • Must observe operation of machine, review reports, and fill 100% of the time

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to perform Teamwork

  • Must be able to communicate with Supervisor, Coordinator, Material Handlers, Other Technicians, and Team Members

  • Must be able to fill-out work orders and reports

  • Must be able to use tools and other equipment safely

  • Performs preventive maintenance on twisting equipment

  • Pro-actively identifies yarn quality during production runs

  • Performs breakdown maintenance on twister equipment

  • Assist operators as required.

  • Performs other duties as required


  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Successful completion of all required on the job training

  • Successful completion of all required heal and environmental safety training

  • Ability to communicate in standard English and to understand and follow verbal or written instructions

  • Ability to work well with people

  • Ability to maintain an acceptable level of attendance in accordance with company and department guidelines

  • Must have 1 year experience as a maintenance or equivalent educational background
