The Maintenance Manager leads a multi-functional team of both hourly and salaried maintenance technicians and engineers, and will drive these team members into the creation of a world class maintenance organization. Drive and foster safety as a core value within the organization, as well as getting machine reliability to a point in which it maintains product quality and integrity, as well as eliminating waste.

  • Key leader in the development and implementation of setting the safety standard and leading our core value, whether it be through plant and equipment related projects or noise and silica related projects and awareness.

  • Responsible for facilitating, auditing and continuously reviewing the Lock-Tag-Test, JHA, MOC and SOP programs.

  • Directly responsibility for the reliability of the machinery in all departments, and for the performance and efficiency of plant support equipment, environmental compliance equipment and the fabrication department.

  • Ensures training as required to maintain and continuously improve necessary technical skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronics. Maintain performance records on team members, routinely communicate performance to team members and coaches team members on methods and techniques for improving performance, including reviewing time records.

  • Responsible for developing KPI’s for the maintenance department that cascade through the main metrics for the organization, as well as communicating successes and creating action plans and projects for areas of opportunity.

  • Assists Buyer and purchasing department in the maintenance of spare parts inventory for min/max levels, new vendors and re-order evaluation.

  • Will either be or set the point of contact for any internal and capitol related projects that both strengthen and grow our business and competitive advantage.

  • Utilizes plant technology and software databases to drive the success of the business. Daily evaluation of machine condition monitoring to set predictive and efficient repairs of the equipment, as well as develop baseline for PM planning and OEM expectations. Utilize scada system to optimize process book control of equipment, as well as push the limits and capabilities of equipment and department efficiency.

  • Regularly conducts safety meetings and pre-shift maintenance objective meetings, as well as weekly safety audits and inspections to find any unsafe behaviors, and utilizes engineering or administrative controls to eliminate unsafe conditions.

  • Administrator of SAP maintenance integration for use in PM, work order process and facilities support and improvement.

  • Thorough analysis of both single point and repetitive problems which in turn will drive to root cause solution and introduction or change to current processes or procedures.

  • Work directly with Corporate Engineering and OEM’s to continue to support the plant and the equipment, as well as drive upgrades and incorporate best practices with the facility and equipment.

  • Schedule team members work time and vacation time to ensure proper coverage for department.

  • Performs other duties as required.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: College or Technical degree in Engineering, Electronics or related field highly preferred. High school diploma and five plus years of maintenance supervisory experience may substitute for a degree. Three or more years of technical supervisor experience preferred, but progressive leadership roles will be evaluated as well. Knowledge of electrical, PLC, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and/or electronic equipment and systems required. Three (3) to five (5) years industrial maintenance experience required and prior supervisory experience preferred.
