Under general direction, effectively and efficiently supports computer-based business solutions. Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and modification of existing applications. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works autonomously, with guidance in only the most complex situations. Work closely with first tier support staff to resolve service problems. Ensure smooth integration of all services in the network environment. Provide technical services. Prepare documentation that will assist in the maintenance of the Network Services. May serve as an internal consultant to other Business Groups, assisting them in the area of server supports, security, WAN/LAN and Voice, and other development issues that will aid the process. Requires solid working knowledge of WANs, LANs, and telecommunication concepts as they relate to the Network environment.
Resolve complex problems requiring information from multiple sources or advanced knowledge in a thorough and timely manner.
Manage the day to day administration of the Network Environment. Conduct independent research to learn current trends in Network utilization and software deployment to generate improvement suggestions, and present findings to supervisors.
Develop training material/documentation to support day to day end user tasks.
Act as a mentor to others.
Make peer-reviewed changes to produce a solution to a problem. Responsible for solving complex technical issues.
Expected to have basic project lifecycle skills.
Expected to follow defined I/S project execution standards including business process mapping notation and transformation, change control process and software lifecycle in the execution of projects of substantial size.
Expected to continually expand scope of knowledge.
Expected to follow defined I/S support processes and create knowledge articles as needed.
Expected to work effectively with other I/S disciplines and bridge gaps as necessary.
Must demonstrate leadership skills to ensure project goals are achieved. Requires 7x24 support under general direction and support of senior team members.
Travel – Must be willing and able to travel as required by the demands of the position.
Expected to continuously lead by example.
BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Relevant technical or industry experience will also be considered.
Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or equivalent
Specialties: Voice over IP (VoIP), CUCM-Cisco Unified Communication Manager, CCME-Cisco Call Manager Express.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant technical experience and 1-2 years of industry experience is preferred.
An understanding of cisco routers, switches, voice and wireless technologies.
An understanding of Structured Cabling, LAN/WAN, VLANS, STP or VoIP, TACACS, LDAP, DNS, SNMP, QOS, etc…
An understanding of Voice over IP (CUCM, CCME-SRST, SCCP, SIP, H323, MGCP, FXO/FXS).
A strong understanding and working knowledge of OSI Layers.
A strong understanding and working knowledge of IP address and Subnetting.
Requires the ability to work independently or in a team; the ability to be the Technical Lead on Projects; and the ability to work with different business units.
Developed interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with and influence internal and external contacts as well as developed oral and written communication skills.
Ability to take direction from superiors and contribute to departmental discussions regarding problem solving required.
Requires developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nature of position requires ability to organize/prioritize duties and give attention to detail and accuracy in execution of duties.
Must have demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment involving complex situations.
Must have demonstrated leadership skills.
