Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

The Multi-Craft Technician under the general supervision of the Engineering/Maintenance manager must be able to satisfactorily perform and carry through to completion the following:

  • Repairs, adjustments, equipment installations, or any other maintenance related task in any part of the mill.

  • Inspections, installations, adjustments and maintenance of electronic/electrical equipment, controls, measuring devices, power distribution systems, and wiring.

  • Must be able to analyze and repair compressors, air controls, troubleshoot valves and cylinders. Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot systems and components.

  • Use blueprints to wire, install and troubleshoot electronic and electrical equipment and controls.

  • Diagnose, repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning electrical apparatus such as transformers, motors, and motor controllers, lighting circuits and fixtures, programmable logic controllers, electronically controlled hydraulic positioners and AC drive motor controls.

  • Perform regular fire and safety inspections and corrections.

  • May occasionally come in contact with acetone while performing daily tasks.

  • When coming in contact with acetone the following applies:

  • Must be sure that all spills are cleaned up

  • All containers must be kept closed except for removing or replacing acetone

  • All containers are to be properly labeled and stored.

  • After using acetone it must be recycled and waste must be properly stored

  • Acetone is considered a hazardous material and anything that comes in contact with acetone must be treated the same and stored as hazardous waste

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year maintenance industrial degree plus three years industrial experience; or five years documented experience in industrial maintenance including, electronic and electrical experience in a manufacturing facility.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules and operating instructions.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply these to practical situations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, logically and systematically analyze machine problems and correct

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

  • Must be able to climb and work at heights up to 75 ft

  • Work near moving mechanical parts.

  • Is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

  • Work in a normally loud / noisy environment.

  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
