General Job Description:
Oversee all functions of the finishing department and its machinery and equipment
Job duties and responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all company safety rules and procedures
Sets up and operates Schiele lacquer machine on automated milling line to coat the bevels of laminate flooring planks with the correct colors
Monitors machine settings, process and product to ensure quality of product to documented procedures
Troubleshoots process and makes required process parameter adjustments (pressure, temperature, position, etc.) to maintain quality of product
Monitors progress of overall equipment effectiveness and takes corrective action to minimize equipment downtime and maximize equipment performance
Checks settings of the machine before and during production and adjusts where necessary
Checks the parameters of the paint (viscosity, color) and adjusts as required by adding the necessary components
Ensures the preparation, execution and follow-up of color change (closely follows the schedule to get everything done on time)
Tracks raw material consumption; completes production records and other reports
Performs required housekeeping and cleans the machine after a color change
Performs required PM and routine maintenance work (including intensive cleaning, exchanging filters, changing seals, pipes, etc.)
Performs quality inspections and reports quality failures
Performs other related duties as required
Essential Skills and Experience:
HS Diploma or GED Required, 2-year College and/or Associates Degree Preferred
Knowledge of production processes, quality control concepts.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved.
1-2 years’ experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
Lean and Six Sigma tools experience desirable.
Nonessential Skills and Experience :
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
Automated process knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of décor and color changes
Shop Floor program experience with the ability to follow production orders in the system and determine the correct color required for each order
Knowledge of Schiele system in detail
