Dal-Tile is currently searching for a detail focused Resource Planner who can effectively manage production needs within our manufacturing facilities. You will work with the production facilities to create weekly production schedules. The production facilities utilize this schedule to manage their weekly work efforts to produce goods for our customers. A customer service approach is needed in this position. Planners will work to resolve delays in product shipments and coordinate alongside multiple departments within Dal-Tile, such as Logistics and Marketing, to provide a high level of service to the customer. We are seeking a relationship builder who wants to make a meaningful contribution to Dal-Tile’s business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines and provides weekly production needs (Master Schedule) to the plant(s) by analyzing customer demand, sales forecast, inventory, lead-time safety stock and other planning data

  • Maintain/utilize Bill of Material information in various systems for production planning.

  • Responds to customer service and advises on complex problems from plants, suppliers, transportation, customer service, sales and marketing.

  • Assists in product transfer decisions between factories and distribution centers

  • Uses extensive knowledge of data, systems, and systems interface to resolve complex problems or suggest supply chain solutions for process improvement

  • Serves as Supply Chain Planning representative at cross-functional meetings. (Home Centers Distribution, Transportation, Information Technology, and Fitness Team meetings.)

  • Assists in the monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations) process and the annual capacity planning and budgeting process.

  • Provides guidance and training to the Planning Assistants and Material Planners.

  • Monitor the large order process to streamline the logistics footprint and optimize the SOS.

  • Prepare weekly reports (Instock, Service, Schedule Adherence etc.) and presentation for meetings

  • Maintain planning parameters like lead times, min/max etc.

  • Response to data requests from team members.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Business, Economics, Mathematics or related field

  • Certified in Production Inventory Management (CPIM) designation desirable

Experience & Skills:

  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in Manufacturing Plant production scheduling and or supplier purchasing planning

  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources- SAP and data warehouse using Excel/Access

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Access

  • Previous strong Excel analysis experience using pivot tables, v-lookups, formulae, sorting, filtering etc. required

  • ERP/SAP experience will be an asset

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
