As our University Relations Manager you'll be developing and maintaining relationships with our core colleges and universities to attract the best and brightest talent to Mohawk. This position manages university relations and recruits qualified candidates for entry level supervisory, technical, sales and specialty positions. The person will manage campus recruiting activity and facilitate true partnerships between Mohawk and our key colleges.
Responsible for university/college recruitment strategy and building relationships with campus stakeholders as well as planning and coordination of campus events (information sessions, career fairs and meetings with faculty)
Manage and facilitate Intern and recent graduate programs. Plan intern events and social activities, partner with OE Specialist to oversee full-time rotational programs. Identify and implement improvements to the programs.
Responsible for campus diversity and military outreach and building relationships with key campus/military stakeholders as well as planning and coordination of military and campus diversity recruiting activity
Responsible for building a pipeline of qualified diverse talent. Duties include: phone screens, interview/selection, candidate follow-up, consulting with hiring managers, developing staffing plans and reports.
Work with managers to review skills needed for open positions:
Review job descriptions
Create job postings and external ad copy
Coach hiring managers on interview questions and refresh them on legal issues involved with interviewing.
Coordinate interview schedule with top candidates and hiring manager.
Conduct follow up reviews of candidates with hiring manager
Coordinate offer letter, background check, etc with HR office
Ensure that all candidates are in applicant/employee tracking system for EEO/AA tracking.
Support other recruiters in their recruiting efforts as needed.Other duties as needed.
Keep abreast of trends, technologies and changes impacting university/college recruitment including social and online recruiting
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 2+ years in recruiting or HR experience
College recruiting experience with a best in class employer is a definite plus
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and the Internet.
Knowledge of or ability to learn employment laws, regulations, and guidelines
Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
Ability to read, write and interpret routine reports and correspondences.
Good analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task, follow-up, meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
