This position is responsible for the development, modification and implementation of applications on a Synygy v11 software platform. This includes creating and modifying software components designed to support new or existing business needs of the flooring finance group as they pertain to calculating, paying, and reporting Commissions and Rebates across the entire organization.

Will provide technical support in all aspects of designing and constructing applications systems, to include development requirements, design specifications and integration analysis and resolution. Projects are of medium to high complexity and require advanced knowledge of the Synygy v11 platform and its functions. Based on thorough analysis of the project, develops solutions from concept to implementation. Typically works in all phases of a project. May require working with other internal and external teams to complete the assigned project.

This position will also play an integral part in the migration of the current Commission and Rebates applications to a new Vistex solution installed on SAP ECC platform and ultimately be responsible, once migrated, for ongoing support and configuration of the Vistex solutions.

  • Participates in the evaluation, customization, implementation, and support of the existing Synygy v11 Commissions and Rebates systems and their associated interfaces and integrations. Design, code, test, install, and support significant enhancements to existing applications and entirely new development projects. May be asked to serve as the on-call support person from time to time; troubleshoots and corrects complex system problems.

  • Performs required analysis and provides technical advice and direction regarding the interfaces with other systems in the application portfolio; analyzes how the supported applications can best serve business functions; recognizes the impact to the business of proposed applications changes and advises accordingly.

  • Interacts with business users and project team to quantify system requirements, coordinate system and integration testing, migration and roll-out; participates in identifying alternative technical solutions options, quantifying pro and cons. Identifies and uses appropriate methods, techniques, and tools for documenting applications and interfaces.

  • Serves as Project Lead or participates on project teams serving as an IT technical expert on small to medium size projects; as a project lead will be responsiblefor overseeing and coordinating the activities of assigned project team to meet project milestones; ensure the use of appropriate project management tools to develop project plans, schedules, status reports, and project documentation etc.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus.

Candidate must have in-depth technical knowledge, with hands-on experience managing systems development in a Synygy v11 application development environment. Experience to include:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an application/system development role with demonstrated progressive professional growth and achievement.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience developing application solutions in Synygy v11 software tool including working with models, inquiry systems, creating portal views, reports, and dashboards.

  • Experienced in developing and testing extraction, transformation and load (ETL) processes. Includes defining and capturing metadata and rules associated with the ETL processes and adapting ETL processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business requirements.

  • Experienced in SQL scripting and programming within SQL Server Management Studio application including stored procedures, SSIS, and related tools.

  • Familiarity with other software applications such as SharePoint, BizTalk, and CyberArk.

  • Familiarity with SAP and/or Vistex software is a plus.

  • Prior work experience supporting financial applications with strict SOX controls. Understanding the intricacies of developing detailed incentive compensation and customer rebate plans.

  • Strong analysis, troubleshooting, debugging skills, strong partnering and relationship building skills.

  • Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills; quickly researches and resolves production problems; anticipates and prevents problems.

  • Proficient using PC, Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) applications.

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of system development life cycle steps, including requirements gathering, developing applicable test cases, writing up design and development specs, performing unit and integrated system testing, and completing user acceptance testing.

  • Working knowledge of the principles, techniques and methodology of project management, quality management, and change management.


  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers

  • Ability to present and explain tecygy v11 hnical information in a way that establishes rapport persuades others, and gains understanding

  • Position reports to the I.S. Application Manager. No direct reports currently exist for this position.

  • Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task related advise and direction to junior team members.
