Roles and Responsibilities
Work closely with the sustainability team to support the development and implementation of sustainability programs and initiatives across the company and its business units
Assist the sales force and customers with technical needs and search tools related to LEED, carpet recycling, EPDs, LCAs, and international sustainability standards and oversee and coordinate sustainability training of the sales force
Support in the execution of LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge, Living Product Challenge certification for Mohawk facilities and products, including coordination of internal and external action items to ensure timely completion of the project
Work closely with Compliance Team to research product certifications, analyze and support the team on implementation and continuation of these programs.
Lead internal and external audits of manufacturing facilities and/or suppliers to support maintenance of various sustainability programs.
Coordinate on multiple companywide sustainability initiatives with cross disciplinary teams such as Compliance, R&D, Global Energy, Product Design and Development, Sales, Product Management, Waste Management
Assist with internal sustainability employee engagement effort, community impact projects, mill tours, non- profit engagement activities
Assist in documentation of the annual corporate sustainability report, GRI data, CDP reporting, and other sustainability surveys and indexes
Assist with RFI and RFP responses related to sustainability and market segments
Attend networking opportunities and represent Mohawk at industry organizations like USGBC, ILFI, and professional gatherings, as deemed appropriate.
Provide additional support to the team as needed

And has –
Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering or related technical discipline
2-4 years’ experience in the relevant industry
Familiarity with various sustainability related market standards and driversand wide range of knowledge on environmental issues.
Experience with Life Cycle Assessments, Carbon Emission calculations, Material inventory data collection, Material chemistry preferred.
Exceptional research and analytical skills
Intermediate/Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Access, Power point and other software applications
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to operate in a multi-disciplinary environment
Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative, problem solving and resourcefulness.
Skill set that includes command of work independently, setting priorities, handling multiple tasks with concentration, speed and accuracy to meet deadlines.
Experience developing marketing materials, employee training and customer communications highly preferred.
Ability to travel/commute independently as needed – Local and domestic travel for business
