Mohawk Industries Sr. Lease Accountant in CALHOUN, Georgia

Overview

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for deploying and integrating lease accounting processes and metrics.

  • Effectively complete deployment to comply with new Lease Acct Standard (ASC 842)

  • Coordinate timing and communication of all tasks and events for SEC filing

  • Draft SEC footnote disclosure on quarterly and annual basis

  • Lead training to implement new global leasing process, policies and tools.

  • Develop training modules for post implementation training for new employees

  • Lead regular communication with senior leadership to ensure effective change management

  • Measure and track implementation status, reporting out to senior leadership and corporate accounting teams regularly

  • Lead external auditors through testing and auditing of the Lease Accounting Standard

  • Serve as the Mohawk subject matter expert on Leases and Lease Accounting

  • Create and implement KPIs to measure success of the Lease Accounting

  • Ensure adherence to process and accurate completion of all work

  • Execute all lease processes associated with technical and judgmental accounting elements

  • Ensures that account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed timely and in accordance with accounting policies

  • Solicit feedback from stakeholders around the company on the new lease accounting process

  • Work with segments to identify and optimize process improvements to add efficiency to the process

  • Serve customers in business finance, manufacturing finance, treasury, sourcing being a single point of reference for questions pertaining to lease accounting at Mohawk Industries

  • Partner with Internal Audit to deploy and execute new controls associated with lease accounting

Qualifications

  • 5 years related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance

  • CPA preferred

  • CoStar expereince preferred

  • Understanding of Leasing Industry and Lease Accounting (ASC 842)

  • Accounting research skills and knowledge

  • Experience working in a globalenvironment
