The Machine Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all Pegasus and Titan sewing machine equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Guarantee that sewing equipment is operating properly and is safe for running.
Assist and educate fellow operators in troubleshooting principles
Troubleshoot and resolve all sewing machine issues
Adjust yarn tension and stitch rate
Make adjustments on loopers
Repair and rebuild machines as needed
High school graduate or GED equivalency required.
Experience performing job specific general maintenance duties that includes experience in maintenance of mechanical and low voltage electrical equipment.
Possess a technical aptitude to read and understand technical documents and instructions such as blue prints, manufacturing and installation instruction sheets, etc.
Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.
Must be able to work nights and or/weekends on rotating 12 hr shift
Ability to operate and perform preventative maintenance on assigned department equipment, machinery, tools, etc.
Successful completion of all required on the job training.
Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training.
May be required to use PC and other department specific database systems.
Prior experience diagnosing troubles, plan, and repair breakdowns in machines, steam lines, water lines, air lines, air and water pumps or any other plant equipment required
Prior experience installing finished machinery, equipment, devices or components at the ultimate use site. Assist in training of operators and maintenance personnel in production and maintenance details.
1-2 years Mechanical experience
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs
