Mohawk Industries PURCHASING ASSISTANT in CALHOUN, Georgia


Assists the purchasing department in its administrative tasks, reporting, scheduling, posting invoices and troubleshooting invoice payments. The successful incumbent will be an organized individual with the ability to quickly learn administrative tasks, system navigation, and understand scheduling/purchasing processes. The Purchasing Assistant should provide efficient administrative support and the ability to solve day-to-day issues and problems that come up. The focus of the Purchasing Assistant role will be to assist Buyers with issuing orders and scheduling, as well as support other buyers with reporting, processing invoices within SAP, and special projects. This position will focus on providing excellent customer service to our internal customers.


The incumbent administers purchasing support from point of manufacture through transportation, warehousing, and delivery to the customer. Builds relationships with internal customers and vendor/supplier entities through day-to-day scheduling and order planning.

  • Provides administrative support, including SAP system reporting, creating purchase orders, posting invoices and facilitating SAP workflow issues.

  • Works with buyers and vendors to address issues regarding quality, payment, and delivery.

  • Works closely with Raw Material Buyer to issue Purchase orders and schedule deliveries according to the Raw Material Delivery calendar for all US plant locations.

  • Involvement in special projects, as needed.

  • Supports buyers in reporting needs and miscellaneous special projects.

  • Acts as resource for internal customers for SAP purchasing questions / purchase requisitions / invoice workflow resolution.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in purchasing/logistics environment, and supporting internal customers.

  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.

  • Solid problem analysis and resolution skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple priorities. Complete tasks efficiently and identifies opportunities for process improvements.

  • Ability to work independently, and have a high sense of responsibility.

  • Must be proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

  • High School Diploma/GED
