The primary objective of this position is to assist in managing inventory levels to meet budget requirements and to support proper customer service levels for imported products.
Plans inventory and coordinates new product rollouts based on integrated timing and action plans
Participates in the approval of projections
Develops purchasing and inventory plans. Constrains where necessary to achieve capacity requirements and financial budget objectives.
Issues purchasing requisitions for assigned product category
Coordinates with product management and vendors to develop timing and action plans
Coordinates with sales management and product management to develop inventory and service exit strategies
Manages import planning tool data setup and maintains setup data integrity
Reviews daily customer exception reports.
Follow-up with shortage report and provides instock arrival date.
Publishes a weekly service bulletin
Authorizes and assigns inventory rehandles as needed.
Reviews drop sku’s and cancels vendor purchase orders
Attends projection calendar review meetings and provides
Reviews inbound containers and assigns delivery priority based on ABC rules (A –inventory needed for urgent shipment like projection, B- inventory needed for orders within 7 days, C – inventory is for stock)
Provides customer service/sales account team with weekly instock update
Follow-up on DHO shipment to insure that billings are completed by month-end (as assigned)
Follow-up with POE shipments to insure that containers will ship on-time. (as assigned)
Track critical vendor shipments for projections using the weekly PPRs Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and managing all import product development and follow-up design
Reports on aged and slow moving inventory.
The above duties are daily job requirements. This position will also be responsible for executing all duties assigned by the manager.
4 Years College degree (will consider high aptitude candidates with combination of college and related work experience)
2-4+ years of related planning or finished goods purchase planning experience
Related product knowledge
Fluency in Microsoft Office
Ability to make logical decisions and manage with uncertainty
Ability to act as a managerial advisor on professional and technical issues with a view towards reaching strategic decisions. Ability to manage conflicting demands for resources through negotiation.
Strong PC skills including MS office package, internet, and internal company hardware and software. Accurate typing and data entry skills required.
Excellent presentation skills:excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with product management, customer service and sales.
Strong understanding of sourcing, logistics and warehousing processes.
