Job Function : Repair all major defects and assist weaver with start-up after repair.

Job Duties : (Assume use of standard and\or prescribed methods).

  1. Tie broken warp ends (Repair breakout)

  2. Correct misreeds and misdraws.

  3. Pick out defects where repairable. Remove laps from whip roll and warp by tying in ends into pattern as needed.

  4. Substitute for weavers as required.

  5. Monitor smash hand light to repair warp problems and fabric splicing.

  6. Document information on smash hand and fabric splicing report.

  7. Retrieve sewing machine and splicing table to splice and seam roll.

  8. Start loom if stopped and run three layers of fabric onto roll.

  9. Raise press roll and chain up press roll.

  10. Pull start up handle on loom to upward position, reverse rotation of takeup by use of takeup switch , holding fabric at

both side (receiving & picking side), winding off fabric until reaching defect, leaving enough fabric to be cut and

placed on splicing table. Stop loom and pin out.

  1. Cut fabric and lay bottom half on table ensuring fabric is placed on nails of splicing table in the same pick line. Ensure

top layer is placed on table over bottom layer on nail with nails in the same pickline.

  1. Aside excess waste

  2. Adjust table to secure fabric.

  3. Retrieve hot iron to splice fabric evenly.

  4. Unsecure table from fabric and asides table.

  5. Retrieve sewing machine double stitching fabric.

  6. Aside sewing machine.

  7. Pull safety pin out of loom. Reverse takeup switch and by holding ends of fabric, reroll fabric onto roll, ensure fabric

is not distorted.

  1. Unchain press roll and lower onto fabric.

  2. Tag roll with splice tags ensuring that documentation of information is recorded on tag.

  3. Start up loom.

  4. Measure cloth on assigned loom twice per shift and record exceptions.

  5. Properly dispose of fabric waste.

  6. Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.

  7. Obey all safety rules and regulations.

  8. Immediately report to supervision any accidents, hazards, and/or injuries,

no matter, how slight

  1. Actively participate in the Total Productive Maintenance Process as required.



  1. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time.

  2. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and shifts as required.

  3. Must perform miscellaneous duties as required by Supervision.

  4. Must be able to lift 15 pounds on a frequent basis.

  5. Must not have an active decision making leave.

  6. Must stay in this job for a period of one year before being eligible to apply for another posted job.
