This position manages the daily operation of warehouse location(s) to assure effective and consistent application of procedures and processes, participates in planning, developing and implementing optimum service delivery strategies, and communicates with external customers and vendors and personnel in Sales, Marketing, Logistics and other areas as necessary to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees activities for warehousing locations:

  • Participates in establishing operational procedures to ensure consistency, accurate and timely inventory disposition and warehouse operations

  • Provides daily leadership and manages the work of warehouse employees

  • Reviews staffing levels and approves HR functions for each for each warehouse. Maintains oversight of controls and recording keeping measures.

  • Manages operations budget segments.

  • Confers with personnel in key areas that impact warehousing operations to resolve issues and provide input:

  • Communicates with division management on projects and/or changes impacting warehousing operations, service and delivery.

  • Coordinates activities with other functional areas as necessary to ensure a continuity of efforts and identify new opportunities.

  • May serve on management teams and committees to provide advice on process and procedural changes, cost saving measures, and improved efficiencies.

  • Resolves external customer service issues by discussing and negotiating directly with customers/vendors or through interface with Mohawk personnel:

  • Researches and resolves loading and delivery problems for national and large customer accounts.

  • Contributes to the effective and smooth-flowing operations of each warehouse location:

  • Makes regular visits to each warehouse location and initiate informal discussions with associates.

  • Keeps abreast of local warehouse issues. Gathers information and responds to feedback.

Qualifications:

Four-year college degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. This includes a minimum of 2 years experience supervising employees and a proven track record of implementing cost-saving

4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing and/or logistics operations, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising employees and implementing cost-saving measures
