The Human Resources Generalist will help drive the people strategies of the Sales Business Unit (SBU) for Dal-Tile. Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance and guidance on resolving employee relations issues by partnering closely with functional Leaders and Regional HR Managers.

  • Acts as the secondary point of contact for employees while providing guidance, conducting investigations, recommending solutions, and analyzing trends.

  • Provides direction to Leaders regarding disciplinary actions, terminations, and handling policy violations.

  • Works with Compensation function to facilitate promotions, role changes and hiring activity.

  • Applies policies and procedures to complex employment issues. Ensures compliance to State and Federal laws. Recommends changes to policies and procedures based on business trends.

  • Works closely with Hiring Managers and provides input and guidance as they make hiring decisions. Facilitates the job requisition process to improve hiring efficiency. Facilitates the approval process and takes proactive measures to improve time to fill.

  • Provides one-on-one coaching and career development counsel to managers and employees.

  • Conducts HR related research and assists with HR strategic planning preparation.

  • Assists employees with development planning and goal setting.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related area required

  • 2+ years of corporate HR experience required

  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations and industry required

  • HR certification (SHRM, HRCI, ATD, IRHIM, etc.) preferred

  • Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills

  • Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work with a minimum of supervision
