The Vice President of Hospitality National Accounts is responsible for leading our company’s efforts in expanding relationships and driving growth with top hospitality customers, design firms and purchasing companies. Establish productive, professional relationships with senior level design, procurement, development and operations personnel and lead solution-oriented development that best address the customer’s needs. Align & coordinate efforts with both the Durkan sales management and internal cross-functional teams to meet and exceed the annual performance objectives. Maintain expertise and keep informed of development trends in the industry to monitor the organization’s competitive market position.


  • Train, coach and mentor Regional Vice Presidents, Account Executives, Independent Agents and/or support staff to educate customers, assess and match the customer needs with the appropriate product and ensure that the sales team has the knowledge and necessary resources to meet these needs and to address client concerns and ensure the resolution of issues in a timely manner with appropriate follow up.

  • Directs the selling of both soft and hard surface flooring products, ensures that the sales team provides a high level of service and attain sales, service and profitability objectives.

  • Develop and ensure that the regional business plan is aligned with Commercial and corporate strategies and objectives. Assess and adjust the deployment of resources in the market place as needed.

  • Ensure that products, pricing, representation and service are maintained at superior levels.

  • Trains and coaches agents and/or staff to educate customers, assess and match the customer needs with the appropriate product and ensure that the sales team has the knowledge and necessary resources to meet these needs.

  • Work effectively with product development, manufacturing and marketing to evaluate the effectiveness of current products, services, policies and marketing campaigns and assist with corrective action as needed.

  • Represents the HOSPITLITY NATIONAL ACCOUNT business to industry associations to strengthen its position in the marketplace and develop strategic selling programs and account management practices necessary to successfully exploit these business opportunities.

  • Provides mentoring and leadership through critical and independent thinking skills and behavior.

  • Exercises authority concerning hiring, performance management, reviews, promotions, salary decisions and terminations of employees and the contracts of agents.


  • Four-year college degree in business, marketing or related field and 10+ years of related work experience and any combination of education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, combined with demonstrated professional growth and achievement.

  • 5 years minimum succerssful sales management experience, to include regional management oversight.

  • Ability to sell total flooring solutions with experience in Hard Surfaces/LVT preferred.

  • Firm understanding of P&L's and a grasp fo the levers to pull to facilitate positive behavorial change.

  • Strong knowledge of the Hospitality market and the key relationships with NATIONAL ACCOUNTS, End Users, Purchasers and Designers.

  • Intermediate to advance proficiency level in the following areas: Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Business Writing concepts and techniques.
