The Department Manager will lead important departmental functions such as production, departmental management, quality initiatives, safety programs, and new process development. The Department Manager will develop tactical plans to achieve manufacturing goals, develop people, and achieve business objectives. The role will assist in developing budgets, drive financial performance and continuous improvement activities, assist in developing new manufacturing technologies required for new products, and ensures compliance with all regulatory programs.

  • Oversees the department functions

  • Teams with production planning to arrive at a production schedule

  • Analyzes charts, graphs, and data to determine labor needs ensuring production is cost effective

  • Ensures production is timely and in line with quality standards

  • Ensures that health and safety guidelines are followed

  • supervises and motivates a team of workers

  • Identifies training needs

  • Conducts yearly performance reviews

  • Liaison between different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers

  • Attends various business unit meetings and gives an account for department


  • 4 year degree in business, management, engineering or equivalent field or equivalent professional work experience

  • 5 years progressively responsible experience as a manager within a manufacturing environment

  • Six Sigma certified preferred
