The Warehouse Associate II performs a variety of material handling duties associated with the warehouse.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely move slab and tile material using cranes and forklifts in the warehouse, and to load and unload trucks and A-frames.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.

  • Utilize pick and/or packing list to stage and safely load, unload, and weight-balance slabs and tile onto a variety of commercial vehicles, adhering to company, OSHA, and Marble Institute of America safety standards and procedures.

  • Operate forklift and cranes to move material in accordance with company, OSHA, and Marble Institute of America safety standards and procedures.

  • Follow defined company procedure in the unloading and receiving of shipping containers and material transfers, including inspection of material for quality control issues and breakage.

  • Tag newly received material with locator labels and move into bundle storage, floor stock A-frames, or tile racking, using forklift.

  • Safely move slabs for viewing and selection for customers as requested, adhering to company, OSHA, and Marble Institute of America safety standards and procedures.

  • Performs a variety of warehouse duties such as pull/assemble customer orders, check outbound orders for accuracy/completeness, inventory stock checks, restock and label vendor product, maintain displays (tools, caulk, etc.), move, store, and replenish material, and conduct daily cycle counts.

  • Performs receiving duties such as receive and unload inbound material, process inbound shipments, stock material, process customer returns and notify management of damaged shipments for freight claims.

  • Operates forklift equipment.

  • Maintains clean and organized facility by sweeping, trash removal, etc.

  • May wait on customers and prepare sales slips.

  • Maintains a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules as outlined in the Safety Program and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions and acts to Management.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education & Knowledge:

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Certified Forklift Operator

Experience:

  • 1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred

Competencies:

  • Basic math skills

  • Organization skills

  • Customer service skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Detail oriented

  • Safety conscious.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate must lift and/or move up to 80 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
